Campsite holidays in Saint Jean Pied de Port

A step on the road to Santiago de Compostela

If there is a mythical path, it is that of Saint Jacques de Compostela. It constitutes a great human adventure already more than 1000 years old making the pilgrims dream. The door Saint Jacques , classified World Heritage by UNESCO, located at the entrance of Saint John Pied de Port , already delivers a promise. Indeed, the city of Saint Jean Pied de Port is the starting point of the mythical mountainous stage known as the Ports de Cize. This stage leads to the Collegiate Church of Roncesvalles crossing the Pyrenees.
The pilgrims take the road, and go down the street of the Citadel. They make a stop at Notre Dame du Bout du Pont church and then go up the rue d’Espagne, before rushing towards the Cize passes. This is probably one of the most difficult stages of the Saint Jacques de Compostela Path , however, it is also one of the most beautiful.
